A campus police officer was shot and injured in Denver early Monday morning whereas making an attempt to apprehend a suspect who had trespassed right into a car, officers stated.
The capturing unfolded at round 1:18 a.m. on the Auraria Campus, which is shared by Neighborhood Faculty of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and College of Colorado Denver, in downtown Denver, campus officers stated in a press release.
Two campus officers approached a suspect who was discovered “trespassing right into a car,” the assertion stated. The suspect allegedly assaulted the officers and fled.
When the officers later tracked down the suspect, officers stated he resisted, and officers deployed a taser.

The suspect then fired a number of photographs, hitting one officer within the arm earlier than fleeing a second time.
The officer was handled for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at a hospital and was later launched.

Auraria Campus Police and Denver Law enforcement officials later arrested the suspect. The suspect was taken to a hospital for analysis, although it was unclear whether or not the taser that officers initially deployed made contact, officers stated.
