Athens, Greece — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.7 has struck southern Greece off the coast of the western Peloponnese. There have been no quick stories of injury or accidents from the earthquake, which was additionally felt within the Greek capital and as far afield because the southern island of Crete.

The earthquake occurred Friday morning and occurred beneath the seabed close to the Strofades Islands, about 120 kilometers southwest of the western metropolis of Patras, in line with the Athens Geodynamic Institute.
