A 28-year-old policeman from Buenos Aires was killed this Wednesday with a bullet to the head after shooting with a criminal who stole a backpack in San Miguel and who minutes later was arrested thanks to the help of neighbors, who warned that he was hiding in the rear of a property.

The tragic episode occurred around 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday on Coronel Charlone Street, between El Zonda and Paula Albarracín, in that town of the homonymous party in the northwest area of ​​Greater Buenos Aires.

The agent from the 3rd police station of that jurisdiction, identified as Adrián Ricardo Almada, arrived there on his 110-cylinder Motomel Blitz motorcycle. He was frank and dressed in civilian clothes.

It was then that an armed man surprised him and took his backpack. Identifying himself as a policeman, he started a shootout with the robber, who ran away from the scene.

Almada followed him and about 50 meters, at the corner of El Zonda and Coronel Charlone, the criminal waited for him hiding behind a wall and shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.

Neighbors in the area called 911 to alert about what happened and a lock operation was set up in a few minutes to capture the murderer. They also told the police where the criminal had escaped from and pointed out that he could be at the bottom of a property, where he was finally arrested.

The 34-year-old suspect has an address at 4400 Coronel Charlone, a few meters from the place where he killed the police officer. As confirmed, he has a criminal record.

During the escape, he took off his jacket and pants so as not to be recognized. However, these garments were later found together with the victim’s backpack and a fully loaded .32 caliber revolver with percussed cartridges.

According to the expert’s report, Almada suffered a bullet wound to the left side of his head and his Bersa Thunder Pro service weapon was found next to him.

The prosecutor Mirna Sánchez, from the decentralized Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 19 of Malvinas Argentinas, intervenes in the case, who ordered that the expert reports at the crime scene be carried out by the Argentine National Gendarmerie (GNA).
