Investigators found a “small bone fragment” on a hacksaw that Brian Walshe allegedly threw into a dumpster after killing his wife, court documents say.
Brian Walshe, 47, faced a Massachusetts court in connection with the presumed death of Ana Walshe on Thursday for the first time since being charged on several charges, including murder.
He pleaded not guilty to charges that he beat his 39-year-old wife to death at their home in Cohasset and disposed of her body, which detectives still not found.
Among the evidence gathered is a hacksaw found in a dumpster across the street from his mother’s home in Swampscott, Massachusetts, along with Volkswagen keys, Ana’s COVID vaccination card, a Hermes watch and Gucci necklace that was known that Ana was wearing, Hunter boots, a black Prada bag and a short black coat, the April 27 court says.

Investigators also found carpets that appeared to be from Walshe’s living room and kitchen that contained “russet stains” and “numerous items that were identical” to Brian’s alleged purchases at Lowe’s and Home Depot, according to the latest court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. .
Three grainy surveillance footage of Brian Walshe buying copious amounts of cleaning supplies and carrying a garbage bag were included in search warrants unsealed this week in Quincy District Court and obtained by Fox News Digital.

One image shows Brian pushing a shopping cart at Rockland Home Depot on Jan. 8 between 4:12 p.m. and 4:56 p.m., according to the search warrant.
Some of the items in the wagon are three mops and brushes, two large clear tarpaulins, drop cloth, two rolls of Scotch Heavy-duty tape, one Tyvek suit with hooded coveralls, one mop bucket with bell, three buckets with lids, two splash – resistant goggles, a knife, two 12-pound bags of baking soda and an axe, the warrant says.

Many of these items were found in Walshes’ home in Cohasset after police executed a search warrant on Jan. 8.
Another surveillance image shows Brian in the Swampscott parking lot of Vinnin Liquors at around 5:13 p.m. Jan. 1, where he is seen throwing out a black garbage bag, the warrant says.

About an hour later, on Jan. 1 at 6:05 p.m., Brian is seen on security cameras shopping at Lowe’s in Danvers, where he reportedly purchased $450 worth of tools, including a hacksaw, the warrant says.

Brian and his mother hired a private investigator in December to follow Ana around her job in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a real estate manager, because he believed she was cheating on him, prosecutors revealed at Thursday’s court hearing.
There was mounting tension in Brian and Ana’s marriage due to Brian’s unrelated legal troubles, which put him on house arrest as part of his probation for selling counterfeit Andy Warhol paintings, prosecutors said.

Walshe is also fighting allegations that he allegedly destroyed his father’s will.
In December, Brian suspected that Ana was cheating on him, and “he repeatedly visited the Instagram page of one of Ana’s male friends from Washington DC,” the court said.

The day after Christmas, Brian’s mother, “with his input and direction,” hired a Washington, D.C.-based private investigator “to keep an eye on Ana for the purpose of proving her infidelity,” the court said. December 27.
On Dec. 28, Ana became “unusually emotional and extremely upset” while out with her friends in Washington, D.C., because she thought Brian was going to jail, according to court documents.

“Ana told her friend that she intended to move her three children to Washington DC and that she was willing to leave Mr. Walshe,” the court said.
Walshe’s attorney, Tracy Miner, addressed these new revelations in court on Thursday, when she told the judge that the private investigator was allegedly Walshe’s mother’s idea.

Miner said her client reportedly told his mother, “Go ahead. You’ll be proven wrong. Ana is good.”
Prosecutors revealed that Walshe would be the sole beneficiary of Ana’s life insurance policy, which totaled about $2.7 million.

Miner also addressed this point in court, claiming that there was nothing to indicate that Brian was looking for money and alluded to the New Year’s Eve party, where Brian, Ana, and their mutual friend had spent a “celebratory” night.
During Thursday’s hearing, Brian was seen shaking his head as prosecutors laid out their allegations.

After the two sides presented their arguments, Walshe was ordered to be held without bail, as he was. His next court hearings are scheduled for August 23 and November 2.
Reporters shouted questions at Brian as law enforcement officers escorted Brian out of the courthouse, and he can be seen in a video on Twitter shaking his head no when asked if he killed Ana.

The Norfolk County district attorney called Thursday’s hearing another step “in a long process” that will work its way through the Massachusetts court system.
Following the hearing, Fox News Digital spoke to Massachusetts criminal defense attorney Nate Amendola, who is not involved in the case, for his response.

He said that both sides have provided insight into their arguments during a potential trial.
Miner portrayed Brian as a loving father and caretaker while Ana spent most of her time working in DC; and the state alluded to possible motives: infidelity, jealousy and financial gain.

He said first-degree murder cases almost never end in a plea deal in Massachusetts, so Amendola said he fully expects a trial after several conference hearings to resolve the discovery.
