BERLIN –

In Austria, two people have been charged with allegedly playing speeches by Adolf Hitler over the loudspeaker system of a train traveling from Bregenz to Vienna, Austria’s APA news agency reported Monday.

The two suspects, who were not identified, also gave the Nazi salute “Heil Hitler” several times on the train’s intercom on Sunday. Authorities tracked them down by analyzing video footage from the train’s cameras. Spreading Nazi propaganda is a criminal offense in Austria.

The two are also suspected of responsibility for two other incidents last week on trains from St. Poelten to Vienna, in which recordings were played over the train intercom. It was not clear whether those recordings also had Nazi connotations.

The suspects allegedly opened the train conductors’ intercom cabins with a key owned by all train employees and then played the recordings, APA reported.
