The Honduran government decreed the previous weekend a curfew in Choloma from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am after the massacre of 13 people in a pool hall in the Victoria neighborhood. This same curfew will be applied in San Pedro Sula as of July 4, 2023.

The entrepreneurs of the nightlife businesses recalled that they have already been affected by the torpical storms Eta and Iota, and two years of the covid-19 pandemic.

“This closure (curfew) will become the tombstone for many of us who have had to survive all of the above, plus the bank economic burden for financing, salary and rent payments without operating for all that time,” they said.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Cortés (CCIC) yesterday requested the Minister of Security, Gustavo Sánchez, that the curfew start from 12 midnight and not from 9:00 pm.

He curfew that will be imposed restricts mobility during the established hours, in which people must remain in their homes or refrain from circulating on the streets and public places.
