British Home Secretary Suella Braverman met with French Home Secretary Gerald Darmanin on Thursday to discuss state security, the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration.

The meeting was held at the National Crime Agency in London as part of the French interior minister’s first official visit to the British capital.

Discussing the importance of security in the face of terrorism and state threats, the two agreed to continue working “hand in hand” to protect the common security of both countries.

“Mrs Braverman welcomed the fact that between January and May of this year, the French stopped the crossing of more people than those who managed to reach England.”
