Prosecutors say he leaked information to then Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio.

A DC police lieutenant was arrested Friday and charged with obstruction of justice and making false statements over allegations he leaked information to then-Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, who was convicted last month of seditious conspiracy for his role in the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

The Justice Department announced Friday that Shane Lamond, 47, has been indicted by a DC grand jury on one charge of obstruction of justice and three counts of making false statements.

Lamond was named repeatedly during the nearly four-month seditious conspiracy trial for his ties to Tarrio.

The indictment, unsealed on Friday, alleges he obstructed the government’s investigation into Tarrio for the December 2020 burning of a Black Lives Matter flag by telling that the Proud Boys police chief had issued a warrant for his arrest.

Lamond further allegedly gave confidential law enforcement information to Tarrio, which was in turn passed on to other Proud Boys members.

When interviewed by police in June 2021, Lamond allegedly lied multiple times about his contacts with Tarrio, the indictment alleges.
