Egyptian exports to the US fall to 2.3 dollars

The Central Bureau for Public Mobilization and Statistics reported a decline in the value of Egyptian exports to the US in 2022.

This was highlighted in the report “Egypt-US of America Economic Relations in 2022”, which analyzed the volume of foreign trade with the US (export-import) in the period 2021-2022.

The value of Egypt’s exports to the US was $2.3 billion in 2022, representing 4.5 percent of Egypt’s exports to the world, compared to $2.5 billion in 2021, a decline of 9.1 percent .

Ready-to-wear exports ranked first, accounting for 57.9 percent of total exports to the U.S. and reaching $1.3 billion in 2022, compared to $1.2 billion in 2021, an increase of 10.5 percent .

The value of Egyptian imports from the US was $6.8 billion in 2022, representing 7.2 percent of Egypt’s world imports, compared to $6.4 billion in 2021, an increase of 5.9 percent .

Imports of grains, oily fruits, and medicinal plants ranked first with 33.6 percent of total U.S. imports, reaching $2.3 billion in 2022, compared to $1.7 billion in 2021, an increase of 33.9 percent.
