For 5 days in a row, in Shkodër, the 6th edition of the “Art Screen” film festival took place.
The event brought Shkodra and Albanian art lovers a rich program of films and videos by artists from all over the world, where this year there was a higher participation from Kosovo.
“This festival is about what is called video art. They are visual artists who work with video. In this field, Albania, especially Kosovo, brings very interesting proposals”, said Edi Muka, artistic director of the festival.
The Film Festival is a collaboration with ‘Lo Schermo dell’Arte’ in Firenze, therefore the Italian Institute of Culture values this event as very important for culture.
“I appreciate it for two reasons. The first because it is an initiative of an international level organized by a great artist who manages to bring to Shkodra not only Italian productions but international ones of the highest possible levels. And secondly, because it is an initiative that brings back to attention a city like Shkodra, which has early cultural ties with Italy”, said Alessandro Ruggera, director of the Italian Institute of Culture.
“Art Screen” is conceived as a meeting point for artists. Young Albanians and curators and professionals from the world through the presentation of artistic portfolios as well as educational activities with children from Albanian and Italian schools.
