Elon Musk requested that a bathroom be built next to his office at Twitter headquarters, according to a lawsuit.

That would be because he didn’t want to wake his security team in the middle of the night.

Musk’s right-hand man suggested hiring an unlicensed plumber so they wouldn’t need a license.

Elon Musk wanted a bathroom built next to his office at Twitter headquarters so he wouldn’t have to wake his bodyguards in the middle of the night to pee, a new court case claims.

Six former Twitter employees filed a lawsuit against Musk and X. Corp., the holding company of Twitterin Delaware District Court on Tuesday.

It charges the defendants with violating 14 charges, including fraud, breach of contract and labor rights laws. But it’s also full of details about what’s going on inside the social media company headed by the billionaire.

That’s what a Twitter engineer told me the BBC in March at least two bodyguards follow Musk around the headquarters in San Francisco, including to the toilet.

That’s what the lawsuit says Steve Davis, CEO of the Boring Companytold Joseph Killian — a plaintiff who worked at Twitter for 12 years and oversaw office design — to begin work on a new restroom closer to Musk’s office.

Musk wanted the facilities adjacent to his own office so he “didn’t have to wake his security team in the middle of the night and cross half the floor to use the bathroom,” the suit claims.

Last month, the billionaire told the BBC that he sometimes sleeps on a couch in the library at Twitter headquarters. Musk also told CNBC on Tuesday that he sleeps about six hours a night.

Killian told Davis he would start by getting the permits for Musk’s toilet, but the suit paraphrases that he replied, “We don’t, we don’t have to follow those rules.”

He reportedly suggested to Killian that they hire an unlicensed plumber to build the toilet, as others would not want to jeopardize their license by working on a project without a license.

Insider reached out to Twitter for comment. It responded with its standard poop emoji auto-reply.
