Florida authorities say they have tracked down the driver who was caught on video last week dragging a dog nearly half a mile behind a truck.

Charlotte County Public Safety credited “super sleuths” for helping locate the vehicle and driver, whose identity has not been released. It was not clear on Monday whether the driver was arrested.

The gruesome scene was captured on neighbors’ security cameras. After some neighbors chased after the truck, the driver reportedly got out and threw the dog into the back before driving off again.
