Why are so many today pointing out the health benefits of eating organic foods? It’s because toxins in synthetic, non-organic foods are the cause of many diseases and cancers in my opinion, as well as the opinion of many other scientists and doctors. Many people are now watching what they eat because the idea that artificial dyes, preservatives and pesticides do nothing but harm the body is a growing awareness. Some feel that people who are trying to avoid synthetic chemicals are being overly cautious, but if you think about it, if you take out the small portion of the food that is actually in non-organic foods, and the only substances left are these apparently harmless chemicals, I doubt anyone would willingly eat or drink the glob of sludge left behind.

Toxins are known to interfere with cellular activity. Several processes take place in the cell and in the body to keep the cells healthy, which essentially keeps a person in the best possible health. Toxins interfere by damaging or altering vital enzymes essential to cell life. This is very harmful to a person’s health. This is not my opinion, but a fact. Most people think that if a substance does not immediately cause noticeable damage, then it is not toxic. But chemistry isn’t that simple, and continuously bombarding the body with chemicals that nature never intended the human body to encounter can negatively impact cellular processes over time. It’s just a slower form of poisoning.

There are many intelligent and credible public figures who talk about the health benefits of eating organic foods. Many doctors, scientists and health gurus are slowly but surely coming to an agreement that the current lifestyle of Americans and people in Western European countries is to blame for the almost astronomical number of people getting sick.

Born in 1914 and currently in his 90s, renowned health and fitness expert Jack Lalanne is known for his extensive knowledge and achievements in health. His motto on health is “If man made it, don’t eat it”. Organic food, for the most part, does not contain man-made and man-processed elements. Jack and his wife are in their 90’s and still exercise every morning and do what they want, and also that he only lives on organic food, all I’m thinking about right now is I want to eat what he eats!

The purity and reliability of organic food is always questioned by the detractors, but I always ignore them because I have a father who worked for one of the best organic farmers in the country, so I know first hand that organic farming is legit is . There are always a few bad apples in every industry, but most organic farmers are very concerned about soil quality, food quality and purity. They want to produce organic food by using methods that are in harmony with nature. This is why the popularity of organic food is on the rise, and also why many are convinced that there are numerous health benefits to be gained from eating organic food.
