“Please, stop lying,” asked the governor of Chaco, who gave his version of his ties to the Sena clan at a press conference.

Accompanied by approximately 50 officials from the province, Jorge Capitanich (58), governor of Chaco, gave a press conference to refer to the disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowski (28), who was last seen on June 2.

“With Gloria Romero (Cecilia’s mother) I have preferred to be cautious. But you have my full support so that the case is clarified and you can come visit me whenever you want. May Justice investigate freely and may those responsible pay with all the weight of the law. We will always be on the side of the victim,” he said and was applauded effusively by his officials who encouraged him with shouts like “Come on ‘Coqui’.”

The press conference began at 8:00 p.m. and was announced an hour before, after a rumor leaked that would affirm a telephone contact between Capitanich and Emerenciano Sena, one of the 7 detainees in the case, in which, according to La Nación+, Sena would have called him to let him know that “‘la negra’ took a shit.” Clarín tried to verify the statement with the Special Prosecutors Team (EFE), which denied the version and assured that they had not yet received the expert reports of the investigated telephone numbers.

“Please, stop lying. It’s a campaign against me. My goal is to clarify everything and convey that the version is false, and it affects me.” Another version that was in charge of denying was the schedule in which the pavement would have been made under which there would be Cecilia’s remains. He assured that it was in the afternoon, although the neighbors affirmed that it was done during the morning.

Regarding the relationship between the provincial government and foundations such as that of the Sena couple, called “Doctor Andrés Saúl Acuña”, and on which an intervention was ordered, he assured: “Like all the country’s provinces, we have difficulties in generating of employment and satisfaction of basic rights such as access to decent housing. We have worked to generate the conditions for the development of the popular economy through the value chain. But we did it with transparency and clarity”.

In addition, he explained that in the province there are 5,000 organizations that bring together about 30,000 workers.

Federal prosecutor Patricio Sabadini is investigating the funds that the Chaco government granted to the Sena foundation. So far in 2023 they would have received 141 million pesos. Capitanich denied that amount and referred to this type of operation: “Transfer systems are executed with control and inspection systems. Corresponding agreements are signed, approved by resolution and there are electronic invoices. In the event that a home is built , on average, is usually at a price that is half the market price value of a private company.”

So far the case has seven detainees: Emerenciano and César Sena and Marcela Acuña (partner of one and mother of another) are accused of Cecilia’s crime. While Griselda Reinoso, Gustavo Obregón, Gustavo Melgarejo and Fabiana González, as of tomorrow, they will be accused of “aggravated concealment”.
