Kidney problems are among the pathologies that have increased in patients in recent years.
This is due to the fact that the kidney is also related to two important diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. On International Kidney Day, nephrologists ask citizens to be careful with this important organ which suffers in silence and only when its function is damaged then the consequences are felt. They have offered free blood pressure and blood sugar tests.
A patient who loses kidney function ends up on dialysis, and most of them are diabetic patients. Therefore, it is not enough for them to only measure blood sugar, but to check other organs as well.
Nephrologists say that there are new treatments for the kidneys that do not harm other organs and that they are often expected to arrive for Albanian patients as well. But citizens should be as careful as possible until they go to treatment, in addition to increasing physical activity, doctors also advise healthy diets for strong kidneys.
