BEIJING – A landslide in China’s southwestern province of Sichuan left 14 people dead and five missing, Chinese state media CCTV reported Sunday.
The landslide occurred around 6 am on Sunday in a mountainous area near the southern province of Leshan city.
More than 180 rescuers have been dispatched to the site, while search and rescue operations are still underway, according to CCTV.
The city of Leshan was hit by heavy rainfall the two days before the incident, according to weather records. REUTERS
