Maryland regulation enforcement officers arrested a California man after developments in DNA allegedly linked him to a chilly case rape that occurred 31 years in the past in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Police Division mentioned on Tuesday that 62-year-old Xavier Battice was arrested by the division’s main crimes chilly case unit and charged with rape.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, charging him with two counts of second-degree rape and a single rely of second-degree intercourse assault.
Montgomery County detectives contacted the Morgan Hill Police Division in California after studying Battice was residing there.

The native police division arrested Battice and held him till Friday, when he was transported again to Montgomery County, Maryland and processed.
Battice was held with out bond.
