After being detained for just over a month for the crimes of aggravated illegitimate deprivation of liberty, simple threats and illegitimate possession of a firearm, the Justice issued preventive pressure against L-Gante for which he will continue to be detained and, as reported , will be transferred to a Buenos Aires prison.

“I resolve to order the preventive detention of Elián Ángel Valenzuela -the musician’s real name-, of other personal conditions that work in the epigraph, considering him ‘prima facie’ criminally responsible author of the crimes of simple threats in real competition with illegitimate deprivation of freedom in an ideal contest with coercive threats”, indicates the letter dated this Saturday.

In the text, other accusations against the popular artist are listed: “Illegitimate simple deprivation of liberty in an ideal competition with threats -with respect to the victim Rosa Catalina Passi-; and simple possession of narcotics”.

The request for “preventive detention” had been made by the prosecutor Raúl Villalba, of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 9 of Moreno-General Rodríguez,

In the request for the letter, Villalba had said that “not only Valenzuela’s conduct and his disrespect for authority must be considered, as evidenced by his actions in the facts brought to study, but it must also be borne in mind that he lives in the same neighborhood as the car victims, just a few meters away”.

This Saturday, L-Gante had posted on his Instagram social network a special thank you to all the people who support him in this cause and gave them some phrases: “Another night, another day, another rhyme, another poetry. Another bed that is not mine, another drink for the Wound,” wrote the urban singer.

Why is L-Ghent arrested?

L-Gante was denounced on May 27 by Gastón Torres, a neighbor of the Valenzuela family and father of friends of the singer, who lives in the Bicentenario neighborhood of General Rodríguez.

That day, at the exit of the “Río” bowling alley in Moreno, there was a fight with several members of the so-called “Mafilia”, the group of friends of L-Gante, who moves en bloc to accompany him.

L-Gante was denounced on May 27 by Gastón Torres, a neighbor of the family.

After the conflict, the police arrived. One of L-Gante’s friends called him for help, fearing that they would take him into custody. It was thus that Torres began to be threatened by Elián Valenzuela. “You messed with ‘La Mafilia’, you messed with ‘420’, you’ll see what will happen to you,” he would have told her.

According to the complaint, members of that same group went to his house and “physically assaulted both him and his family” and then “a white BMW drove by Valenzuela passed, lowered the window, pointed a gun at him and forced Torres to get in the car”.

A few meters away, a neighbor of the singer, who had participated in the first discussion with the friends of the cumbia singer, was also intercepted and forced to get into the same vehicle, according to the complaint.

Torres remained “23 minutes captive, until L-Gante received a call assuring him that his friends had been released by the police and he freed the victims,” said Leonardo Sigal, the lawyer representing the complainants.

The complaint, according to the prosecution, was confirmed by security cameras, by the geolocation of cell phones and by the “statement of the police, witnesses and relatives of the victims.”

With this evidence, the prosecution requested the arrest of the popular singer, and the judge validated the request.
