Beer is one of the drinks most chosen by Argentines, which is in contrast with its impact on the problems that its excessive consumption and other harmful consequences can cause. For this reason, a group of entrepreneurs decided to start a zero-alcohol craft beer project to enjoy without restrictions.

In our country, some brands began to see this trend and began to launch their non-alcoholic versions that are beginning to be seen and sold on the gondolas. The question is: does it taste the same? What if I go to a bar?

In La Cumbrecita, Córdoba, there is a factory that produces 20 types of craft beer and that, among its brand new products, has just launched a non-alcoholic IPA, which they nicknamed “Abstemia”.

“We are strongly committed to a concept, an idea of ​​union, not only to a craft work of non-alcoholic beers, but also to a product that is booming in Europe. We want to implement this trend between what is cocktail bar and the world of the night, where it can be shared without abusing health”, says Gerardo Covelli.

The entrepreneur from Florencio Varela is about to open his own non-alcoholic craft brewery and embraces the concept of inclusion for responsible consumption.

“It’s about experiencing the taste of a real beer, but without the negative impact of alcohol. With this IPA, called Abstemia, we managed to recreate the consumption experience of the craft beer most chosen by consumers, with the freshness of its flavor”, he affirms.

The product arises from work with another entrepreneur, Marcelo Roggio, founding partner and brewmaster of Peñón del Águila, originally from La Cumbrecita, Córdoba, where the craft beer and the new non-alcoholic drink are made.

“The non-alcoholic beer was a project that was in technological and sensory development throughout 2022 to achieve a product that was incredible, the experience of drinking but without the effect of alcohol. For its creation, the trend that exists worldwide influenced a lot. Non-alcoholic beer is a product that is increasingly in demand by a certain segment of consumers, since it allows free consumption and is not harmful to health”, explains its manufacturer.

Beer is drunk in almost every country in the world, although the limitations and warnings are increasing: the harmful impact on health (such as heart problems and being overweight) and the prohibitions of these drinks when driving, since in Argentina the Law of Alcohol 0 governs. In turn, many prefer to take care of themselves aesthetically or not drink alcohol for simple personal taste.

In Argentina, it goes hand in hand with the sanction of the recent approval by the National Congress of the law of zero tolerance of alcohol for driving, which when promulgated by the Executive Power will be valid on national routes.
