For the first time in the history of our country, people connected to the government are being hit, said Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Although he did not mention specific names, this statement by Rama from Berat came as soon as the arrest of the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako was announced.
Warning that force and power cannot be misused, the prime minister said that “we should be proud of the Socialist Party”.

“Patience must also be exercised in the fight against corruption, because we have entered a new phase, where for the first time in history people connected to power are being hit. This is not easy, because you don’t feel good when you see someone who until yesterday was by your side and now is by the side of the prosecutor and the judge.
But even when you see that the force of power can be used to do things you shouldn’t. It never happened before. For this, we should be proud of SP and the contribution we make”.
The meeting with the citizens in Berat was part of the thanksgiving tour that the socialist leader started throughout Albania after the Socialist Party’s resounding victory in the May 14 elections.
