Regarding the closure of Friday night, at 9:25 p.m., while the prosecutor Jorge Cáceres Olivera finished the last round of inquiries of the week, the case investigating the femicide of Cecilia Strzyzowski added a letter raised by the family and that could turn the strategy around to go all out against the Emerenciano Sena clan.
It is that Cecilia’s sister, Ángela Strzyzowski, requested to become a private plaintiff in the case investigating the alleged death of her sister, in a move that would allow the mediatic Miguel Ángel Pierri to join as a consulting lawyer. It is a coup d’état, which would allow the complaint to be given greater volume in a case where an organization with close ties to political power appears on the opposite side.
The move was confirmed to Clarín by the family itself and by Pierri in separate ways, varying in just a few nuances. The idea is that the lawyer provides an arsenal of resources that can help the family in the lawsuit against the Emerenciano Sena clan.
“I spoke with Gloria, Cecilia’s mother. I am making an assessment of the cause and in the next few hours we will define. We have to agree on just a few details,” Pierri told Clarín, who plans to travel to Chaco on Tuesday to meet with family. He added that the job would be completely pro bono.
He also praised the prosecutor’s team, stating that “they are doing their job well” and assessed that in principle it would not be a complex case in itself, but it presents the difficulty of the people investigated.
Pierri, who is not registered in the province, will be represented by his partner, Dr. Sergio Gustavo Briend. El “Puma”, as he is known in the province, is a criminal lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in Chaco and Corrientes.
The other lawyer who joins is Juan Antonio Arregín, also a criminal, who was in charge of some cases related to femicides, gender violence and investigations against power figures in the province. These two lawyers are the ones that Cecilia’s sister wrote down in the brief presented to the court.
In addition to a heavy last name, Pierri’s contribution is muscle: it includes an arsenal of more than a dozen lawyers, experts, cybercrime technical teams, and forensics.

Among the pending issues that remain to be defined is the way in which the complaints of Ángeles and Gloria Romero, her mother, who is represented by three other magistrates, including Karina Gómez, Cecilia’s aunt and the first to take office, will be articulated. a cause that appears gigantic.
Gómez had requested that José Galassi, who is president of the Resistencia Bar Association, join as sponsoring lawyer. Nahir Barut, today a plaintiff lawyer for the Chaco Human Rights and Gender Secretariat, also joined.
From the outset, Cecilia’s family was concerned about the possibility of being overwhelmed by the monstrosity of the cause. It is an investigation that involves the most powerful piquetero clan in the province, with enormous power to mobilize and reach the highest spheres of power. Emerenciano Sena had a fluid relationship with Governor Jorge Capitanich, who was best man at his wedding with Acuña.
This Friday, Gloria’s lawyers denounced that their access to the file was cut off for several hours, during which they could not work or submit requests for reports. Even one of the magistrates noticed that he felt threatened, which triggered some alarms.
It is that despite the commotion that Cecilia’s case caused in Chaco, the family continues to receive threats on an ongoing basis. “Remember that you have another daughter,” they yelled at Gloria in recent days as she walked down the street. They also had intimidating situations with motorcycles coming and going.
Although they all have a panic button, the fear does not go away. “This Marcela Acuña messed with the wrong woman,” says Gloria, but the danger is real. That is why from the family they emphasize all the time that the presence of the issue on the agenda is key for the cause to advance and for them to feel protected.
