Samantha Ford admitted manslaughter but denied knowingly killing 23-month-olds Jake and Chloe before being jailed for 10 years.
However, since her conviction in August 2019, she has been in a psychiatric hospital, awaiting trial, to begin serving prison time.
HM Prison and Probation Service has confirmed that Ford will be released on December 26 this year, the 5th anniversary of her children’s deaths.
The twins’ devastated father Steven Ford described his wife as a “child killer” in a tweet following the decision to free her.
He tweeted: HM Prison and Probation Service have confirmed that on 26th December 2023, this child killer will be released without serving a day in prison. On the 5th anniversary, she will be released. I still can’t get my divorce from this evil woman because she holds all the cards.
Ford pleaded guilty to manslaughter despite having Googled “how to strangle someone” weeks before the crime.
Her legal team claimed Ford was suffering from acute depression at the time of the murders. However, prosecution psychiatrists at the Old Bailey said she may have exaggerated her illness.
