Son of Tennessee police chief wished for taking pictures 2 cops charged with tried homicide; statewide alert issued

Tennessee authorities have issued a Blue Alert for a person wished for allegedly taking pictures two cops outdoors a Greenback Common on Saturday.

John C. Drake, Jr., 38, is needed on two counts of tried first-degree homicide and a Blue Alert, which notifies the general public a couple of suspect hunted for killing or critically injuring an officer, has been issued, based on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The suspect has been recognized because the son of Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake.

“I’m shocked and deeply saddened to be taught that my estranged son, with whom I’ve had very minimal contact over a few years, is the suspect on this afternoon’s taking pictures of the 2 La Vergne cops,” the elder Drake stated in a press release. “My ideas and prayers are with the 2 officers, who I perceive are actually in steady situation at Vanderbilt.”

La Vergne Police Chief Chris Moews stated at a press convention that officers had been investigating a stolen automobile when Drake, Jr. pulled out a handgun and opened fireplace outdoors the Greenback Common.

The officers “had contact with a topic. They struggled with that topic and that suspect produced a handgun and fired photographs,” Moews stated.

Moews stated the suspect is 5-foot-11 with a muscular construct, facial hair and dreadlocks. He was final seen carrying a black T-shirt with a white hockey masks emblem on the entrance with crimson lettering and grey pants.

The suspect was final seen driving northbound on Stones River Highway in La Vergne.

Drake, Jr. is taken into account armed and harmful, La Vergne Police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation wrote on social media Saturday night. A shelter in place order that had been in impact for the Lake Forest group was lifted at round midnight.
