On the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Battle of the same name, this Sunday in Koshare, the manifestation “Days of Albania” took place.
This historical event that broke the border between Kosovo and Albania was remembered as one of the most titanic battles of the war for freedom.
The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said that the Koshare war changed the entire course of developments in Kosovo.
“The developments in the war in Kosovo were quite difficult… The frontal attack in Koshare, the epic of Koshare and the combat operation of Koshare, has never happened in the past in the Albanian war… ……Whenever we talk about Koshare, we are not talking only for a war, a battle, but we are talking about a war operation that has lasted for days and every day skilled soldiers such as Agim Ramadani, Sali Çeku, Xhemajl Fetahu and many others have arrived. They with their own glory and pride, because they really managed to break the Albanian-Albanian border established by violence among the Albanians” – said Ramush Haradinaj
The son of the martyr Rifat Goxhufi, Durimi, while showing that he was only 5 months old when his father died, said that freedom was brought by the fighters and martyrs who fell to never die.
“24 years ago on this day, freedom began to come, the freedom we sought for many years and many generations. Freedom was brought by these warriors and martyrs who fell to never die, among them was my father, who left me 5 months old when he died and never had the opportunity to see me again. They sacrificed themselves for one reason only, to fight against the enemy so that they don’t step on free Kosovo and we enjoy freedom today and that’s what happened. Today, for all of us, their blood is the guide of our lives, so that we can continue to send their work as high as possible to the freedom that they brought themselves”, he added.
In this battle of 1999, over the course of two months, 114 KLA fighters were martyred and hundreds more were injured.
