The European Center for Press and Media Freedom has strongly condemned the gun attack on the premises of Top Channel, where unfortunately one of the security guards was a victim.
Through a message on Twitter, ECPMF expresses its condolences to the family of 60-year-old Pal Kola, and called on the Albanian authorities to conduct independent and professional investigations.
“Shocked when we learned that there was a gun attack on the premises of Top Channel in #Albania , where a security guard was killed in the facility. We express our condolences to the family and call on the Albanian authorities to conduct independent and professional investigations” – writes the European Center for Press and Media Freedom.
Top Channel faced a serious situation at midnight on Sunday, where shots were fired at the building by unidentified persons. The security guard, Pal Kola, lost his life, after being shot at around 01:00, in circumstances that are still unclear.
On the highway of Kavaja, at the place called “Agait Stream”, a burned vehicle of the “Range Rover” type, which is suspected to belong to the perpetrators, was found. According to the information, the license plates of the vehicle are stolen.
The police are at the scene, while the investigative team continues its work to clarify the circumstances.
