After Tampa and Phoenixa consulate will open in the state of Pennsylvania and another in Florida.
Although they did not specify when the consulates in Tampa and Phoenix will be open, the Foreign Ministry confirmed that the permits from USA They are already ready and it is expected that the Ministry of Finance will give a budget item.
“The places have already been identified where the consulates are going to be installed, the United States has already approved them because a permit must be requested and now we hope that Finance provide the money to begin the processes that continue regarding the installation of a consulate,” said Vice Chancellor Antonio García.

“Before the end of the year there will be consular reinforcement and in matters of protection of migrants and unaccompanied minors with more personnel and mobile teams,” added the diplomat. In relation to the consular reinforcement, which García announced, Foreign Minister Enrique Reina detailed that “six mobile consulates will be carried out before the end of 2023 in coordination with the National Register of persons and Migration”.
The opening of the new consulates is to serve hundreds of migrants who arrive daily in USA.
“A consulate will be opened in the state of Pennsylvania, in the city of Pittsburgh, to decongest the consulates in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, and northern Virginia; where a strong Honduran community lives,” Reina added.
The other two consulates in the US will open in Pennsylvania and Florida
