The White Home on Sunday condemned “within the strongest phrases” the continuing anti-Israel protests at faculties throughout the US, together with at Columbia College in New York Metropolis, saying there isn’t a place wherever within the US.

Anti-Israel agitators occupied the college’s south garden for hours Wednesday as the varsity’s president, Minouche Shafik, testified earlier than Congress about anti-Semitism on Columbia’s campus.
A tent encampment was arrange on the campus’ fundamental garden, and protests continued into the evening and for days.

Protests have referred to as for an intifada and the loss of life of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A Jewish Columbia College pupil was even advised to “commit suicide” and was repeatedly kicked within the abdomen throughout the protests.
Tensions continued to rise and on Thursday New York Metropolis police arrested 108 individuals who refused to go away the camp. Every of them obtained a summons for trespassing.
Fox Information realized that the college started issuing suspension notices to college students arrested Thursday.

“As President Shafik has stated repeatedly, the security of our group is our first precedence,” the college stated. “Columbia college students have the proper to protest, however they don’t seem to be allowed to disrupt campus life or harass and intimidate fellow college students and members of our group. We’re appearing on the considerations we hear from our Jewish college students and are offering further assist and sources to make sure our group stays protected.”
