One of the three fugitives who had a national and international arrest warrant for the crime of Gabriel Izzo, the businessman murdered in the Buenos Aires town of San Antonio de Padua, was arrested in the Merlo district.

The detainee was identified as Gustavo Damián Potenza, who was captured in one of the raids carried out in a field located at the crossroads of Rodo and Gibraltar in the town of Pontevedra by personnel from the Buenos Aires Police and was now at the disposal of the prosecutor in the case, Claudio Oviedo.

Rodríguez Sierra insisted on his innocence and repeated that he is totally oblivious to the facts with which he is accused. After the extension of the investigation, he decompensated and had to be transferred to the Sanatorio de Oeste de Ituzaingó, where he was treated and, once stabilized, was taken again to his place of detention.

The murder of Izzo, owner of a sawmill in the western suburbs, occurred on Friday at 4:20 a.m. at his home at Italia 1077, a few blocks from the center of the San Antonio de Padua station.

His wife, daughter of the owner of the “Petinari” company, dedicated to the manufacture of trailers, rollovers and semi-trailers, from the Merlo district, was also seriously injured there.

The incident involved at least two criminals who were driving in a gray Volkswagen Gol Power and entered the couple’s house after forcing the wooden blind of a window without bars that overlooks the street, while at least two accomplices were left behind. support on board the vehicle.

According to testimony gathered during the investigation, Izzo woke up to noises and grabbed two of his own weapons that he kept in his room: a Bersa .40 caliber pistol and a .38 revolver, and left the room to see what was happening.

When he realized what was happening, he confronted the criminals, who shot him with firearms and also stabbed him, while the victim also fired, although only with the revolver since the gun jammed and apparently did not hit the target. hurt nobody.

Izzo was hit by at least five projectiles and died on the spot as a result of the bullet and stab wounds that the criminals inflicted on him, while his wife was stabbed and beaten, which caused her to lose her right eyeball the sources added.

Meanwhile, Petinari’s relatives told Télam that the woman is in a very delicate state and remains serious, after suffering sharp injuries to her body and the loss of her right eye.

“He is still serious but stable. We are waiting for him to recover and come out little by little,” said Adolfo Petinari, brother of the injured woman.

Days after the crime, Rodríguez Sierra, owner of the Gol in which the thieves fled, was arrested, and his son and an 18-year-old were also arrested, who were later released because they were not related to the incident.
