Néstor Ariel González had a relationship with Jonathan Oscar Vargas, almost 20 years younger, with whom he would have argued on Monday night.

A 46-year-old man was murdered with more than 30 stab wounds at his home in the Buenos Aires town of Garín and his partner, a 28-year-old young man, was arrested as a suspect in the crime, police sources reported on Tuesday.

According to the spokespersons, the crime was discovered this Monday after 10 a.m., when, following a 911 call made by a brother of the victim, personnel from Escobar’s third police station went to the house located in Centenario at 4000, Garín.

There, the police found the owner of the property, identified as Néstor Ariel González (46), who had more than 30 stab wounds in the chest area and upper limbs.

As reported by El Día de Escobar, the authorities found a knife next to the body.

The publication further reported that the victim was single and had no known regular occupation. Neighbors who knew him commented on social networks that he was in charge of a community kitchen.

Inside the home, police officers found the man already lifeless. “The victim had visible injuries and a knife next to his body,” said sources in the case and reproduced by the same medium.

After carrying out various inquiries, the uniformed officers were able to establish that the victim had a sentimental relationship with a 28-year-old named Jonathan Oscar Vargas, nicknamed “El Misionero”, and with whom he would have had a discussion during the early morning, according to the spokesmen.

Based on the data obtained from witnesses and the analysis of security camera images, the investigations established that the suspect fled González’s house after jumping over a wall.

For this reason, the investigators stopped him when he was walking to work as a bricklayer in the Ingeniero Maschwitz area.

The investigators ruled out the robbery hypothesis as a motive for the crime and point to a relationship problem for which Vargas was arrested.

“The main hypothesis is a homicide that occurred in the framework of a settling of scores for a drug-related conflict, since no signs of violence were found in the house for the aggressor to enter,” they slipped from the Secretariat for Community Security and Prevention Township.

In addition, they assured that “there are two people suspected of the fact, who would have been with the victim the day before and who are being sought.” In this way, they dismissed the possibility of an attempted robbery and pointed out that the aggressors would be people close to the victim.

At the home where the crime was committed, two knives and a scissors stained with blood were seized and will be submitted to expert opinions, the spokesmen added.

In turn, after establishing the whereabouts of Vargas, police personnel endorsed by the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) No. 5 of the courts of the jurisdiction, urgently apprehended the 28-year-old.

The case was labeled “homicide” and the investigation was carried out by the decentralized prosecutor’s office on Escobar’s duty.
