A bus inspector for Line 17 was attacked with a knife at a Buenos Aires Metrobus station, a few meters from the Obelisk. The assailant, who was later arrested by the City Police, was first detained by the victim’s co-workers, who was attended by SAME.

After a call to 911, agents from the 1B Neighborhood Police Station of the City Police went to the Metrobus on Avenida 9 de Julio, at its intersection with Rivadavia avenue, where the attack took place.

When the police arrived, drivers of bus line 17 commented that a man, who had been subdued at the scene, attacked the inspector who was at the stop doing his work for the transport company with a knife.

The victim had a superficial leg injury, without risk to life, for which a SAME ambulance was called to assist him.

According to sources who worked on the operation, the inspector told the police that the detained assailant was in line at the station, waiting for the bus.

But when the unit arrived at the stop, he wanted to sneak in. He went ahead, surpassing the passengers who were waiting earlier and it was when the Inspector told him to respect his turn,

The man left – to insults. and minutes later he returned and attacked him with the knife.

After wounding the inspector, the attacker tried to flee but the bus driver, passengers and other transport workers caught him and held him until the police arrived.

After being treated by the SAME ambulance, the injured inspector was transferred to the Argerich hospital, to treat the cut on his right leg, which fortunately was not deep.

The Flagrancia Este Prosecutor’s Office in charge of Horacio Peix intervened, who ordered the arrest of the aggressor for minor injuries.

A series of attacks against colectivos

After the attacks, seven bus lines decided to stop with the aim of demanding more security measures.
