They were transporting for profit, with 2 vehicles, 4 illegal immigrants, they did not obey the order of the Police officers to stop, 2 citizens were handcuffed, one of whom also performed dangerous maneuvers with the vehicle.
2 other citizens were also handcuffed, who were checking the road, in order to signal the 2 drivers of the vehicles transporting the immigrants, if there were Police services. One of the collaborators was found with a small amount of the narcotic substance cannabis.
3 vehicles, 4 mobile phones, a sum of money, a quantity of cannabis and immigration identification documents were seized.
Specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic and Narcotics of DVP Korçë, in cooperation with the Korçë Police Surveillance Agency and the Devoll Police Station, following the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, against payment, in order to pass illegally crossing the border, organized and finalized the coded police operation “Midnight 7”.
As a result of this operation, the following citizens were arrested in the act:
-BB, 26 years old, resident of Pristina, Kosovo;
-F. Xh., 29 years old, living in Prizren, Kosovo;
-GV, 25 years old, resident of Obeliq, Kosovo;
-IA, 25 years old, resident of Pristina, Kosovo.
The Police Services, on the basis of the information provided by the information intelligence, for some citizens who would transport, against payment, illegal immigrants, to illegally cross the border, organized actions on the “Korçë-Pogradec” road axis, in Qafë Plloçë, made it possible to locate the “Volkswagen” type vehicle with BB driver and F. Xh. passenger, as well as 2 other “Audi Q5” vehicles, with GV and IA drivers
As soon as they realized that they were being chased by the Police, the citizens IA and GV left quickly, disobeying the order of the Police officers to stop. In order to avoid legal responsibility, they got off their vehicles 4 immigrants who were promised transportation to the EU, against profit.
Citizen GV, while being chased by the Police, performed dangerous maneuvers with a vehicle on the road, endangering the lives of Police officers, but was then caught and neutralized.
From the conducted investigations, it turned out that the citizen BB and the citizen F. Xh. were driving around with the “Volkswagen” type vehicle, in front of 2 other vehicles, in order to control the road and signal the citizens of GV and IA, about the presence of Police services on the road. During the physical check, a small quantity of the suspected narcotic substance cannabis was found on the BB citizen, which was seized as material evidence.
Also, as material evidence, 3 vehicles, 4 mobile devices, a sum of money and identification documents of immigrants were seized.
Investigations continue for the complete documentation of this criminal activity, the identification and arrest of other persons involved in it.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Korçë Judicial District Court for further action.
