A group of criminals robbed a famous jewelry store in Trelew, Chubut, and took gold, jewelry, and merchandise valued at 10 million pesos. To enter the premises they did so through a hole, that is, they made a hole in a back wall and entered without being seen by anyone.
The robbery took place in the traditional “El Rubí” jewelry store in the city center, located on Miter Street, between 25 de Mayo and 9 de Julio Avenue.

This allowed them to access a small workshop located in a continuous room to the premises. Using an iron they managed to force the lock on a door that ensured entry to the jewelry store.
According to the investigators, the criminals did intelligence work days before carrying out the robbery. This suspicion is based on the fact that when they managed to enter the premises, the first thing they did was locate the alarm system and disconnect it.
Then they opened a safe containing the gold, loaded the merchandise from three windows and fled through the same place where they had entered.
The first information indicates that the booty with which they managed to escape consists of 200,000 pesos and merchandise valued at about ten million pesos.
The police are working to identify the perpetrators, as well as search for images from security cameras in the area since the business did not have its own cameras.
