A Virginia grandmother was reportedly killed when a tire crashed by the windshield of a SUV she and her household had been touring in as they headed to a theme park. 

Tammy Parsons, 53, was along with her fiancé, two youngsters and two grandchildren in a Ford Explorer on Interstate 64 in York County Sunday, when a tire got here off a Jeep touring in the wrong way and hit the motive force’s aspect of the SUV, in response to WAVY-TV. 

Parsons, of Williamsburg, was pronounced lifeless on the scene, police mentioned, in response to the Virginian-Pilot.

“She was 100% dedicated to her youngsters, all the best way, there was nothing, nothing she wouldn’t do,” her fiancé Joseph Palumbo instructed WTVR-TV. “She is by far the very best, finest girl I’ve ever met in my life … I misplaced a soulmate.” 

He mentioned he had been with Parsons for greater than 10 years.

“When that tire hit, her second-oldest daughter jumped up over her mother to assist me slam that automobile into the guardrail, so we’d cease and never crash and presumably get killed,” he instructed WRIC-TV. “That takes pure power in my eyes. And what? That comes from their mother.”

The household had reportedly been driving to Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream occasion in Williamsburg. 

Palumbo mentioned he was stunned this week to obtain a Halloween ornament he did not know Parsons had ordered earlier than her loss of life. 

“I didn’t realize it was coming,” he instructed WVEC-TV. “I’m not going to lie. It introduced slightly tear.”

He added, “That is how I’m going to have a look at it. [She] gave her life to avoid wasting all people that was in that automobile. All of us walked away that day due to her.”
