“We are going to kill all the English”

This is a man from Venado Tuerto, in Santa Fe, who had posted an intimidating message on social media.

A 49-year-old man was arrested this Tuesday in a raid on his home for threats against the British Embassy in Argentina. The procedure was carried out in the city of Venado Tuerto, in the south of Santa Fe, after the suspect spread an intimidating message on social networks.

The investigation began on June 8, with a complaint filed by embassy authorities before the Court, due to threatening words that the now detainee wrote on the official Facebook page of the diplomatic representation.

“English sons of p… let me suck my p… the queen p… that… I hope the p… that dies of cancer,” read one of the messages posted on that social network . The man, whose identity was not released, also expressed “We are going to kill them all”, “Rajen from here, sons of a thousand p…”, “We are going to kill any Englishman who is in Argentina” and “Mal paridos “.

The National Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 12 worked on the case, of which Ariel Lijo is in charge on an interim basis. They carried out investigative work to identify the sender of those messages.

Finally, after tracing the origin of the intimidating phrases, they arrived at a house at 400 Neuquén Street, in Venado Tuerto, 150 kilometers southwest of Rosario. Personnel from the Antiterrorism Unit of the Argentine Federal Police carried out the search of the house and arrested the man who allegedly made the threats.

In addition, they took electronic devices, including a cell phone and a notebook.

Judge Lijo ordered that the man continue to be detained in the framework of a case for the crime of public intimidation.
