The campaign of the socialists in the May 14 elections is expected to be modest, without much noise and luxury.

The money earmarked for electoral leaflets and posters will go towards trees. A letter bearing the signature of the chief socialist has arrived at the doors of all left-wing municipalities, but also of the mayor of Shkodër Bardh Spahia, to whom Edi Rama, like his elected officials, asks for cooperation in identifying the areas where it will be planting seedlings.

“Dear Bardh, the Socialist Party has decided to spend a part of its electoral budget not on propaganda materials for the May 14 campaign, but to donate trees to the municipalities of our country, thus reducing the pollution of the election campaign a little and leaving behind for the communities a little more oxygen. Hoping that you will accept the Socialist Party donation, please provide us with a work contact. Thank you in advance, Edi Rama”, wrote Rama.

In the last parliamentary elections, the socialists were so reckless with campaign expenses that the Central Election Commission fined them 5.5 million lek for exceeding the quota. This time, unlike in the past, the socialist campaign is expected to focus more on content than form.
