The Traffic Department of the National Civil Police reported that this Sunday, June 11, due to maintenance work on the Palín-Escuintla highway, vehicular passage is regulated.
He added: “For this reason, driver education and respect for the order of the authorities are important.”
In videos shared by the institution, long lines of vehicles are observed while the machinery works on the stretch.
While Provial reported that agents provide road safety and vehicle regulation for work at kilometer 56 of the aforementioned highway.
He added that traffic is fluid in the left lane to the south.
The local outlet Escuintla Noticias de Impacto reported that lines of vehicles have formed about three kilometers on the Palín-Escuintla highway.
Recently, the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) asked the population, mainly the users of the Palín-Escuintla highway, for their “understanding”, since major maintenance is being carried out on that route and it will imply that there will be restrictions on step.
Marhnos, the Mexican company that had the highway concession for 25 years, until April 30, 2023, is carrying out the maintenance work as part of the actions to return the section to the State of Guatemala, contemplated in the contractual commitments.
