The exact place of the visit is not known, but Zelensky’s office said that he met several units in the Donetsk region.

Zelensky said in a video address that he met with military commanders and made “many operational decisions” based on discussions.

He said that a decision has to do with strengthening the navy and all the defense forces.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian army said in its latest update on June 27 that in the last 24 hours, 38 clashes were reported in Liman, Bahmut and Marianka – all in the western part of the Donetsk region.

The Ukrainian army has also been reported to have carried out airstrikes against Russian positions in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

The American daily New York Times reported on June 26 that American officials are concerned that the initial phase of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is too slow.

Zelensky told the newspaper that the counteroffensive is not a “Hollywood movie” and that “we will advance on the battlefield, according to the way we consider the best”.

The war in Ukraine started on February 24, 2022. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, calls the war a “special military operation” to demilitarize Ukraine. The West has responded to Russia, hitting the economy of this country with harsh sanctions. As a result of the war, thousands of people have died and millions more have been displaced from their homes./ REL
