The body stretched out on a deck chair, on the edge of a pool, is a recurring postcard in the daily landscape of Las Termas de Río Hondo. However, over the last two decades, the main tourist destination of Santiago del Estero has diversified its offer and it is no longer just about simply enjoying that incomparable leisure time in a hotel park.

The circuit of places to visit has its highest points in the modern International Autodrome and its Automobile Museum, the 18-hole course of the Golf Club (inaugurated in 2018), the Tara Inti Nature Reserve (Isla del Sol) and the traditional peñas folkloric, such as the renowned Chany Jr., on the side of Route 9.

But there is more.

Visitors can also schedule the unmissable empanadas al carbon that they offer next to cement ovens on public roads, the Agua Santa Park -created in homage to San Francisco Solano-, the Municipal Market, the El Dorado Water Park, the three public pools of thermal water from the La Olla campsite, the wooded strip -with children’s games, sculptures and murals- of Parque Güemes and the pieces made by basket makers, in front of the Casino del Sol.

The Municipal Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Sports adds to this circuit to retrace a varied schedule of activities for the winter holidays throughout the year.
